Dr Carr is associate professor of medicine, director of cardiovascular imaging and associate vice chair for research in the department of radiology of Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and Northwestern Memorial hospital in Chicago. He graduated from RCSI in 1992, completed the medicine SHO training scheme at Beaumont hospital and the radiology training program at St Vincent’s hospital. Following this, he moved to Chicago and did fellowship training in interventional radiology and cardiovascular imaging. He has obtained the MRCPI, FFR (RCSI) and FRCR (London) and is US board certified in radiology and subspecialty board certified in interventional radiology. He is currently principal investigator or co-investigator on several NIH funded and industry sponsored grants related to cardiac and vascular MRI and has published over 100 papers in that field.
